The best part of the holidays is seeing my Christmas tree lit… For me, it’s all about being festive, so I am making a special holiday cocktail, BUT I am not going to use a regular shot glass. Nope! Because it is a special occasion, we are making homemade Peppermint Shot Glasses!

You know those peppermint candies that you probably won’t ever eat? Well, this will put them to good use. That use being a vessel for booze… orrr even just some chocolate milk… something for the kids – RIP Auntie Fee.

If you love DIYs, you’d love this one! It is quick, easy, and expensive to make. It also takes the shape of a beautiful cup, so you can use it to hold small treats.

In the video, I shared both the DIY peppermint shot glasses recipe and my special Holiday cocktail recipe – It gets me in the zone.

Ingredients Needed For DIY Peppermint Shot Glasses and Cocktail Recipe

For the peppermint cups, you will need:

– Starlight peppermint candies

– Shot glasses

For Special Holiday Cocktail, you will need:

– Ice cubes

– Vodka

– Baileys Irish cream

– White chocolate liqueur, and

– Caramel sauce to taste

Let’s move straight into it…

How To Make The Peppermint Shot Glasses + Cocktail Recipe

First, preheat your oven to 300 F.

Next… Unwrap the peppermint candies and arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet in groups of seven.

Make sure to arrange every seven candies to form a hexagon shape.

Place the pan in the oven to bake for 11 minutes.

Time to make the cocktail.

Pour some ice cubes into the glass of the cocktail shaker (or the smaller can of your two-piece shaker), measure in the vodka (base), Baileys Irish cream, white chocolate liqueur, and drizzle caramel sauce to taste.

Put on the top of the shaker and shake vigorously to mix all the ingredients. And that’s it!

Back to the peppermint shot glasses – Turn your shot glasses upside down.

Take the melted candy out of the oven and carefully remove them from the parchment paper. Be careful! It is damn hot.

Consider placing a bowl of ice closeby when dealing with the melted candy so that you can cool off your hands. Why? When these come out of the oven, you only have about a minute where they are malleable enough to work with them, so you WILL end up burning your fingers a bit.

Fold the melted peppermint candies over the bottom of the shot glasses and mold them – so that they take the same shape. Allow them to cool and solidify before removing them from the glasses.

Note:

If you take too much time before molding the candy over the glasses, the peppermint shot glasses won’t turn out right

Pour the cocktail or any preferred drink into the peppermint shot glasses, and enjoy!

I had fun making this. I’m sure you would too. This would have been a great project for the kids, except that it involves heat, so I guess they can only watch and steal some candies.

Let me know if you enjoyed this in the comments. Also, I’d love to see pictures, so you can post your results on Instagram and mention @bboydla. Until next time, love you…
